Review guidelines
curry.club follows the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and the CMA's fake reviews guidance. Fake reviews and hidden incentivised reviews are illegal, and we take reasonable steps to stop them.
Every review must
- Be based on your own genuine experience of that restaurant.
- Be honest, whether it's positive or negative. Stick to what happened and your opinion of it.
- Say clearly if you received anything in return: a free meal, a discount, payment, or entry into a prize draw.
You must not
- Review a business you own, work for, are related to, or compete with.
- Write, buy, sell or ask someone else to write a fake review, positive or negative.
- Post reviews for a business in exchange for a reward without saying so.
- Include personal details about staff, hate speech, or claims of fact you can't stand behind.
Restaurants
- You may invite all your customers to review you, but not only the happy ones, and you can't offer a reward for good reviews.
- Paid featured listings are always labelled and never change a restaurant's ranking.
- You can reply to reviews and report any you believe are fake.
How we enforce this
- Automated and manual checks for suspicious patterns, plus a report button on every review.
- We remove reviews that break these rules and may ban accounts.
- League tables are calculated only from reviews that pass moderation.
